City of Plantation is a premier city in Florida, and is one of the biggest cities in Broward County. Plantation is a growing city of more than 22 square miles, and as of 2006, has a population of more than 86,138 people. One of Plantation’s major recreational facilities is its Central Park. Central Park is an extremely huge multi-purpose facility, with over 26,560 square feet of three lighted football fields, lighted basketball courts, and an indoor facility exercise rooms, locker rooms, and several classrooms. The park is open to the public daily, with several classes and activities offered within the facility. Central Park also contains two Olympic size swimming pools, eight lighted baseball diamonds, roller hockey rinks, volleyball courts, and a 400 meter jogging track. There is also a playground area for children and a 10 acre lake complete with remote control boats. There is also a game room within the facility, presenting opportunities to relax and enjoy a small game of billiards, table tennis, and even foosball.

Another great thing to do is to check out Plantation’s luxury Broward Mall. Broward Mall offers more than 120 national and regional stores, including department stores, specialty stores, and restaurants. With over 1 million square feet of shops, there is plenty to see in the Broward Mall. Other malls in plantation include The Fountain Shoppes of Distinction, which features shopping, entertainment, and fine dining, and The East Sawgrass Shopping District, an outdoor mall that holds a wide array of retail stores such as Borders Books & Audio and PetSmart.
